DINITROL 4941/CAR is a long-term, bitumen-based automotive underbody coating formulated to provide durable corrosion and wear protection for exposed vehicle surfaces.

The solvent-borne coating dries to form a firm, flexible, hard and waxy black protective film with good adhesion and resistance to mechanical wear. It is designed for complete or partial underbody applications on cars and other vehicles and is suitable for vehicle production, pre-delivery inspection, repair shops and aftermarket applications.

DINITROL 4941/CAR can also be used for corrosion protection of spare parts, machinery, iron and steel structures, particularly during storage or transportation in corrosive environments.

The product is available in two convenient package options: 500 ml spray can and 1 L can. The 500 ml aerosol provides convenient application for smaller or targeted jobs, while the 1 L format is suitable for application with compatible professional spray equipment.

Surface Preparation

Apply DINITROL 4941/CAR to clean, dry and corrosion-free surfaces. Remove loose or flaking corrosion before application. Where corrosion is present, DINITROL ML or a suitable DINITROL cavity protection product can be used as a penetrating corrosion-protection layer before applying the underbody coating.

Application

The 500 ml version is supplied as a spray can, while the 1 L version is supplied in a can for use with suitable application equipment. DINITROL 4941/CAR can be applied manually or with compatible pneumatic spray equipment, including airless or airmix systems.

For best results, the manufacturer recommends a product and application temperature of 15–30°C (59–86°F). Always follow the applicable Product Data Sheet, product label and Safety Data Sheet for preparation, application, storage and safety requirements.
